Every person who obtains any groceries, goods, merchandise or food in any restaurant, grocery store, market or business establishment without paying therefor, with intent to defraud the proprietor or manager thereof, or obtains credit for such items, by color, or aid of any false pretense, representation, token or writing, is guilty of the crime of defrauding a merchant, and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 1332, §9, 1980).
