There is created for the management and control of the library of the city a library board to consist of five trustees. The trustees shall be appointed by the mayor with the confirmation of the council. Four members of the library board shall reside within the city limits of Kettle Falls. One member of the library board may be a Stevens County resident living within School District No. 212. The first appointments made under this chapter shall be for terms as follows: one for one year, one for two years, one for three years, one for four years, and one for five years, respectively, and thereafter, a trustee shall be appointed annually to serve for five years and shall not serve for more than two consecutive terms. Vacancies in the board of trustees may be filled for the unexpired term. Library trustees shall receive no salary or other compensation as trustees; reimbursement of actual expenses shall not exceed the amount which has been budgeted. Prior to any actual expenses being reimbursed to any trustee, the chairman of the board shall first approve such expense. (Ord. 1558, §2, 1998; Ord. 1662, §1, 2006).
