The assistant chief and firemen shall not be less than eighteen nor more than seventy years of age and able bodied. They shall pass a satisfactory mental and physical examination, and shall become members of the fire department only after a six month probationary period. (Ord. 1334, §10, 1980; Ord. 1428).
